The Konglomerate Performing Arts Leadership Academy
KPALA — a performing arts leadership academy growing out of KG Kweenz, a NJ Nonprofit Corporation · 501(c)(3)
KPALA — pronounced K-P-A-L-A, letter by letter.
This is about music, the art of dance, and our children. KPALA is Afro-cultural to its core — Black pride in every beat — a royal home where young performers ages 4–18+ discover their voice through dance, step, cheer, drill and drumline, and grow into confident leaders on stage and in life.

About KPALA · The Kingdom
Where Black excellence finds its voice — and its crown.
KPALA — pronounced K-P-A-L-A, letter by letter.
KPALA is an Afro-cultural performing arts leadership academy — Black culture and Black pride at the center of everything we do. At its heart, this is about music, the art of dance, and our children: our kids don't just learn routines — they learn who they are and what they can become.
From the first beat of the drum to the final pose, rehearsal is where discipline meets joy. Here, students build confidence, discipline, leadership, accountability, creativity, and belonging while carrying themselves like royalty — because in this Kingdom, that's exactly what they are.
One Kingdom, one family — no Kween rises alone. We lift each other, every rehearsal, every stage.

From KG Kweenz to KPALA — Same Heart, Bigger Kingdom
KG Kweenz A NJ Nonprofit Corporation was founded in Fall 2019 in Willingboro, New Jersey, as a dance team with a bigger purpose: giving Black youth a place to shine, belong, and lead — unapologetically. As the family grew — more ages, more talents, a drumline, step and cheer — so did the vision.
Today that vision is The Konglomerate Performing Arts Leadership Academy (KPALA): the same heart and the same kingdom, expanded into an academy where performance training, cultural pride, and leadership grow side by side. The Kweenz legacy lives on in every team, every crown, and every alumna who comes back to pour into the next generation.
Programs · For the Culture
Five stages. One standard: Black excellence.
Every KPALA program is built on music, movement, and mentorship — wrapped in academic encouragement and leadership. This is the art of dance and the power of music, taught with pride, for our children.
Signature Program
Dance
The foundation of the kingdom — and the heart of everything we do. From majorette fire to hip-hop, jazz, lyrical and praise, dancers train in technique, musicality, performance quality, and stage presence. Dance is where the Kweenz story began, and it remains the crown jewel of KPALA.
On Stage
Step
Rhythm, unity, and voice. Steppers create music with their hands, feet, and words — precision and power in every stomp. When we step, the whole room feels it.
On Stage
Stomp & Shake Cheer
High-energy cheer with stomp-and-shake flair — sharp motions, big voices, and spirit that lifts the whole crowd, raised right here in Willingboro. Confidence you can hear from the back row.
On Stage
Drill
Military-sharp precision meets Black parade culture. Drill teaches posture, focus, and flawless unison — the discipline of the kingdom, on full display down every parade route.
On Stage
Blaque Reign Drumline
The heartbeat you feel in your chest. Music starts with the drum — and Blaque Reign drummers master rhythm, stick control, and showmanship, anchoring parades and performances across the community.
Beyond the Stage
Leadership Development
Captains, section leaders, and team officers learn to lead rehearsals, mentor younger members, and represent KPALA with poise — skills that transfer to school, work, and life.
Beyond the Stage
Mentorship
Every member is known and supported. Coaches and older members pour into younger ones, and alumni return as Supreme Supremacy mentors — proof of what's possible.
Beyond the Stage
Community Service
Royalty serves. KPALA performs at community events and gives back across Willingboro and Burlington County — parades, celebrations, and service that keeps the kingdom rooted at home.
Beyond the Stage
Academics & College Exposure
Grades matter here. Members receive academic encouragement and real exposure to college life — campus visits, marching bands, dance lines, and what it takes to get there — so the dream has a destination.
The Teams · Houses of the Kingdom
Seven banners. One crown.
Every squad in the Kingdom marches under its own banner — its own logo, its own fire — and all of them carry the Konglomerate crest. At times we show up unknown, but we always leave unforgettable.
Konglomerate Kutie
Future Kweenz in Training · Ages 4–6
Small Kween, big dreams. Our littlest royals — kind, brave, smart, talented, unstoppable — take their first steps in dance, step, cheer and drum.
Kingz & Kweenz of KG
Five Generations · One Reign
The royal court itself — every level of the Kingdom together under one crown, from the Kuties to the alumni. Many talents. One kingdom.
Killa Kweenz
Fierce · Focused · Unstoppable
The House of Konglomerate's fierce dance force — power, precision and presence in every single count.
Krowned Kaos
Stomp · Shake · Cheer
Same team, bigger purpose. Krowned Kaos brings the stomp & shake cheer energy that lifts the whole crowd.
Blaque Reign
Drumline · The Thunder of the Kingdom
The heartbeat you feel in your chest — Blaque Reign's drummers bring the thunder to every parade route and stage.
Steppin Assassins
Step
We move in silence. We strike in purpose. The Steppin Assassins turn rhythm, unity and voice into pure impact — our blood, our people, our legacy.
Royal Precision Cadets
Drill
Military-sharp precision with royal bearing — the Cadets march the Kingdom's discipline down every route, flawless and in unison.
The Royal Pathway
A place for every age. A crown for every season.
From a Kutie's first rehearsal at age 4 to alumni leadership in Supreme Supremacy, members grow through six royal levels — each one a new season of skill, confidence, artistry, and leadership. Tap a level to see that season.
Placement is by age at enrollment, and coaches confirm final placement so every child starts where she'll shine. Age 6 sits at the Kuties / Future doorway — coaches place each 6-year-old where she'll grow best.
Leadership & Coaches · The Village
It takes a village — coached with high standards and a whole lot of heart.
KPALA coaches are teachers, mentors, and mirrors — they train performers, pour into young leaders, and partner with families every step of the way.
Laurie Pauyo

The visionary behind KG Kweenz since Fall 2019, leading the transition into KPALA — setting the culture, the standard, and the royal welcome every family feels at the door.

Why In Person Only? Privacy & Security — The KPALA Way
I'm going to be real with you: it gives me the creeps thinking about my children's information just being up in the cloud. We are a small program — about 20–25 children — and I would rather keep everything in house, locked in a cabinet, than put full names and medical conditions online somewhere I can't see them.
And I insist on meeting the actual parent, face-to-face. I have had children in my face for weeks and never met their parent — forms sent home with a child never come back, or money and forms come back by the child and the parent never comes by. Not anymore. If your child is going to be with us, I need to know you, and you need to know me.
No online registration. We do not register children on this website.
No child’s information is collected or stored online. Nothing about your child is collected or stored online through KPALA.
Paper forms stay in house, locked in a cabinet. Full names, medical conditions, and medications live on paper, in our cabinet — not in the cloud.
A parent or guardian must bring the forms in person. Registration counts only when a parent or guardian brings the packet in person.
Forms are not accepted when sent in with a child alone. The registration fee — $65 for new Royals, $55 for returning Royals, charged twice a year, once for the Spring/Summer season and once for the Fall/Winter season — is also paid in person when you come in.
We meet every parent face-to-face. That handshake is part of registration — for your child's security and for ours.
